Door step/Leveling jacks inoperable...HELP

We have a TropiCal LX 2006. Just discovered entry steps and leveling jacks are inoperable. All circuit breakers/ fuses seem to be on. Checked and reset GFI's I could find (don't know if I found them all) and still no luck. I assume they are on same circuit. Only new thing is new chassis batteries (stronger then the old ones).
Any thoughts???

Since the only thing you did was change batteries, it sounds like you got a wire in the wrong place or missing. Does it make any difference if the disconnect switch is on/off.

My steps work all the time, but the house switch has to be On for the jacks to work.

GFI is for 120 volt AC, your problem is with 12 volt DC. Is your house battery switch in the on position, do you have 12 volt lights, water pump ?

Dunner is right. It sounds like you left off a wire or hooked a 12V wire to ground instead of the hot side of the battery

You need to find your BCC (Battery Control Center) and see if any of those breakers are tripped, but more than likely a missing wire. Not sure why both the steps and jacks quit, other than a misplaced wire and the salesman switch is off.

Agree with Dunner. Yes make sure batt disconnect is in connect mode. Jacks run off coach batts. Of course emergency brake needs to be on too. Does Jack panel light up and jacks don't work, or just doesn't light up?

Other possible is a 30a breaker tripped for the Powergear jacks. Steps *should* run off chassis batts,so switching the chassis batt probably has something to do with it.

didn't notice any missing wires and the teck just unhooked old ones and reconnected as previouly. Jack panel on/off light DOES light, however, no response from jacks. I checked circuit breaker panel, the one with the white buttons with # designations and none are tripped. Main breaker panal above it and the one by the inverter all appear o.k.

Any other ideas? Thank you for all your responses.

On mine, the On light on the jack pad comes on, but the jacks won't operate until I turn the disconnect switch by the door On.

Do you know where your Battery Control Center is? There should be a circuit breaker in it for the jacks. I'll check what diagrams I have and see if I can figure out which it is... if I can find the one for the jacks.

Almost forgot. Mine has an electrical panel in the bedroom on the bottom right side of the closet. There are a bunch of breakers there.

Circuit breakers clearly labeled and none seem tripped. Jack panel 10, step 20. No aux. panal on 2006 TropiCal except at inverter area.

Since all you did was a new battery, try turning your disconnect switch on/off several times. Sometimes the contacts will get dirty internally. Make sure the connectors on the disconnect relay and the aux relay are clean. Maybe loosen/re-tighten them a couple times. It's gotta be something simple that maybe both of use are forgetting.
