Draining my 1999 Sea View - I'm Not a Rookie!
Ok, So its getting cold here in Colorado and I need to drain the 9,000,000 gallons of water that our Sea View holds, (Which is a far cry from the 36 gallons our Tioga held) but i can't find the drain from the fresh water tank.
I'm not a rookie at this, i just can't seem to find the drain... We just purchased this 5 days ago and before i go start tearing beds and cabinets and walls and floors apart i was wondering if there is a secret hole or nozle or valve that i'm missing?!?!?!?
You all were very helpful and very quick about my last posting (changing my backup cam monitor to an lcd), and while i'm sitting here in my office counting down the days until spring when i can actually use this beautiful beast we just bought, i thought i'd tap a great resource!!!
Thanks Folks!!!

I have a drain valve in the corner of the electrical bay (last bay rear-driver's side) with a red handle.

Mine is in the second compartment from the end on the drivers side. Same comparment that has all the hook ups in. White thumb valve with a clear hose running out the bottom of the compartment. Outside shower is also in that compartment which drains the lines with faucets open at sinks.

If you think your MH holds 9 million gallons, you've had it for 5 days, you can't find the drain, and you have to state twice in one post (post and header) that you're not a rookie...........

I have a 2003 sea view and my fresh water tank drain valve is also in the service bay with the water hook up, in the back right hand corner, has a red plastic valve handle on a clear line. It is back in the corner and not easy to see.

Thats not very nice...
And i don't Actually think it holds 9mil gallons, but compared to our 24ft Class C, that held a little more than 25 gallons, its 'like' having 9million gallons...
As for being a rookie, between my dad and myself we've got nearly 80 years in the RV industry...

Ok, so now i'm a professional, ask me anything! On a 1999 Sea View, there is a valve on the water tank that is easily accesable from under the back bed. There are no other 'low' points. The shower in the outside compartment runds through the water pump so those lines have to be drained as well.
We were perplexed because EVERYTHING else on this RV is so user friendly, and get-to-able, and this one thing was NOT as obvious as everything else...
Anyway, thank you all for your help... It lead me down the path to finding all the places this valve was NOT in, which led me to the tank access under the bed.

In about 30 years i plan on making that a goal of mine... Not to ever have to worry about winterizing my RV... Although, in 30 years the term RV may take on the same ideals as Covered Wagon does for us now... But thats the plan anyway, retire and see EVERY part of the country i can!

Not much I can do if you don't see the irony in my post, so I'll appologize.
Between my dad and me we're over 135 years old and have almost 100 years of RV'ing. That doesn't mean I didn't have a rookie season with each new rig. There's some learning to do on every new rig.
Enjoy your 9 million gallons.

I understand what you were trying to say now... My definition of Irony AND rookie are totally different than yours though... HAHAHAHA
As for my 9million gallons... I'm going to enjoy every last drop!!! Although draining it was interesting, it seemed like it drained for days!! (it was only an hour or so, but i guess it was FULL!!!)
Thanks Ken!! I guess when my "Sarcasm" font comes out one of these days and i make my 4th or 5th million i'll buy ya cold one!!
Jeremy
