drivers fuel hose leaking
It seems as if every time I get ready to go out, something new happens. Took the motorhome out for a bit of a run yesterday and to fill it with fuel, about $220 at Costco at $3.39 per, and when I got it back into storage, I noticed something dripping off the left front jack and found it was diesel. Then, I thought to myself, self, why is there a diesel hose on the left side of the tank with no outer filler cap. Crawled underneath, no small feat for this 80 y/o body, and found a locked filler cap just above the propane tank, in a place where you're not going to be able to get a nozzle into. On further inspection, I found that the fuel seems to be leaking out thru the hose itself, no holes and no visible cracks.
I'm wondering if there is any reason I can't just put a short piece of hose on it and cap it off or if there is a GOOD reason that filler is there. I am going to have to burn off several gallons of fuel so that I can remove the old hose.
I guess I shouldn't have squeezed that extra penny of fuel into the tank after all.
