Drivers seat motor control

The drivers seat position motor control is not allowing the seat to move forward or backward, other directions are working perfectly. I can live with the issue but would like to have it working as I plan to sell the coach. I am wondering if the motor is generic and could easily be acquired. Also, is the replacement / repair difficult. As always I would appreciate any feedback.

Most times the supplier of the power seat mechanism doesn't supply individual motors ; they want to sell you the whole mechanism .

Could a motor be found? Quite possibly but the search could be long and involved .
First things first , have you checked that the switch is functioning properly?

EDIT : If the mechanism is a six way power set up , there are three motors involved and swapping motors from one function to another could be possible . If the switch checks out.

Skip, Thanks fo your response. Would you please define mechanism? Not sure if you are referring to a motor or a pedestal assembly? I can only locate one motor but will spend more time on the seat issue today. Once again thanks . TSM

Ok , power seat mechanism , on my 6 way power seats , the mechanism includes the three drive motors, the track for forward and back , hinges and drive gear for front and rear of the seat up and down . Four bolts to remove the seat from the pedestal another four to remove the power mechanism from the seat frame . I'll see if I can find a photo to post.
The seat motors are supplied power and ground from the switch , reversing power and ground on the two wires to the motor , changes direction . To test the switch disconnect the wires from the motor , and using a 12 volt test light connected to both the wires , operate the switch , test light should illuminate in both switch directions .

It may help to know who made the chassis. My 98 Sea Breeze is a Chevy P30. By the looks of my 6 way controller, I'd bet a dollar to doughnuts GM parts would work. It could be switches or the motor. Good bet you could get them on Amazon if you could get a model or part number.
