Electrical Question

Hi all.

We own a 2005 National Dolphin 5320. I just changed out the house batteries this morning and the invertor is working fine again.

I only get power to the outlets at the very front of the coach. TV, DVD, Play station. No other outlets have power.

I've checked all of the breakers in the circuit box, the push button breakers on the panel below the circuit box and the gfci outlets. gfci outlets are unresponsive to reset or test. There are several breakers in the compartment where the invertor is at. I've checked all of them and they're all good. I scoured the manuals and have had no luck in determining what might be the issue.

I thought I would post here to see if any other National owners have experienced the same issue.

All replies are appreciated.

Thanks Richard. I finally realized that just a little while ago messing around in it. Front TV outlet, front floor outlet by pass seat and rear TV outlet are the one's functioning. That's 3 of em.

We thought that the outlet in the under belly storage was powered by the invertor too. It's handy for our portable stereo that doesn't use batteries. Oh well, that's what they make extension cords for.

I'm so relieved everything is working as it should!

Wolfpack fan,

Our '05 Dolphin inverter also feeds the ice maker power outlet in the outside removable panel for the refrigerator. There are two outlets located there, one for the refreg. (not on inverter) and the ice maker outlet.

Thanks for the info Ed. Our Dolphin isn't equipped with ice maker, but maybe the outlet is there. We'll be good with the 3 that operate off of the invertor. We're actually going to get a 1000 watt yamaha suitcase generator. They're super quiet and efficient and we can set it about 25 or so feet away. It'll be enough to power the 32" flat screen, a computer and radio. The on board generator is great when we need to power the high demand items, but the little 1000 will handle entertainment devices just fine. The little Yamaha generates 12vdc then uses an on board invertor to make 110v so it's clean power for the electronic devices.

Our 03 Dolphin built-in 600 watt invertor also powered the bedroom.

In '05 units, the 1000W standard equip. inverter powers only the front entertainment center and the ice maker.

The 2000W optional inverter posers most of the ac outlets in the coach.

FTIW you can switch the refergerator/ice maker plugs around and power the refrigerator from the inverter.

Texans and Fred & Bonny, Thanks. We've got the 2000w, a Xantrex freedom 20, but it only powers front and rear entertainment outlets and one on the floor by the passenger seat. No big deal, I can always use an extension cord if need be. We just picked up a quiet little 1000w generator too. We thought it would be nice to have something that generates power and can charge a battery without needing power (batteries) to start.

Thanks for the tips
