Emergency Hazard Lights not working
I have a 1999 National Tradewinds model 7372 and my emergency hazard lights aren’t working. Trying to figure out where the problem is. They normally work when I pull out the switch on the steering column and turn off when I push the switch back in. All the lights, directional, brakes, headlights, fog lights, drive lights and body marker lights work. The manual says a breaker/fuse box is under the dash by the driver, but I don’t see on there, nor do I see one on the other side of the firewall where the front access door is by the generator. I’ve checked all the circuit breakers at the box.
Planning on a road trip in a month and want to get the hazard light working before I go. Anyone have any suggestions? Maybe the switch isn’t good? If so, is it hard to replace?
Thanks in advance for any comments/suggestions.
Bob

The hazard lights have their own flasher and fuse , and the hazard flasher could be close to the signal light flasher , so when the signal lights are on try tracking that flasher by it's sound .
For some unknown reason , coach manufacturers decide these items have to be hidden , so look for a panel ( I've heard of them to the left of the drivers left foot ) that needs to be removed for access.
Is your coach on a Freightliner chassis?

Yes, it’s a Freightliner chassis. There is a carpeted board with 1 screws holding it in place to the front of the driver’s left foot. I removed the 2 screws and took out the board - nothing there or behind looking like a fuse panel. I’ll remove it again and double check just to be sure.

There’s a plastic panel to the left of the driver’s seat, below the transmission and leveler buttons and there’s a fuse box there. Nothing mentions hazard lights (see attached image)

There’s a plastic panel to the left of the driver’s seat, below the transmission and leveler buttons and there’s a fuse box there. Nothing mentions hazard lights; although, the Freightliner Operator’s Manual shows a completely different fuse box (see attached images)

Found the problem!
Under the plastic panel, below the transmission and leveler controls are two wires that have markings (one “Hazards” the other “Blinkers”) with a relay switch saying 552 12v Wagner DOT (see attached image). Since they are the same, I swapped them and the flashers worked but the blinkers stopped working. This indicates the relay on the blinkers is bad. I went to the auto parts store and bought another one $6 and they both work perfect now. Yippee!

Ok , you have the same issue as I do with the owners manual and wiring/fuse boxes .
Manual was printed in 1998 , your chassis was built after Jan 4 , 1999 .
Freightliner changed the wiring harness and dash gauge package after their Christmas shut down.
If you can find the F/L data decal ; usually low on the wall to the drivers seat left , you'll find the build decal . Picture 1
At least Newmar decided not to hide the fuse boxes ,mounted them outside the firewall. Why F/L decided to wire the flashers loose is another question . Picture 2.

You’re correct my manufacture date is after 1/99 (see attached F/L data decal)
. Our wiring is very similar - yours is neater and better organized. The manual and actuals are different for sure.

I have wiring schematics and diagrams , info on the gauges ( if your dash set up looks like the picture below) and other info I've collected in the past 11 years of owning my Freighliner chassis : most no longer available direct from the Help Line as Freightliner has started phasing out support for older chassis.
PM me if you'd like ( or need ) any of this type of info .

Our dashboard is similar
Thank you for offering to share info. I would like this info. Likewise, if I can help with any info on mine let me know. I’m the one and only owner - bought it brand new in 1999.
Thank you,
Bob Beaulieu
