There is options, such as "gantry" chain fall inside the cockpit area, or trans lifter, Lift tables etc. But no easy task either way. Those 8.1L engines should last, but I guess the owner had a lower rad hose let go, and didn't see the gauge climb. Gotta hand it to the guy(s) doing this job, well done.
