Our Dolphin is 35' and handles best when the fresh water tank is 1/2 full. We only drive with full fresh water if we are going boondocking

As long as you are not over weight that is just fine. Are you saying that is the case?

My old Southwind had water tank under the bed. Once, b4 boodocking for weekend I was distracted while filling tank, heard water rushing out of manual fill pipe. shut off water & found bedroor floor bulging up about 2". I had to dismantle the bed& remove plywood from center of B/R floor to level it. Dont bank on vent to save you. Current DP has big tank with plenty of space to bulge , and capacity to carry it. But i don't fill it much over 3/4, once burned ya know.
