Filling and draining freshwater on 1999 Sea View

***Note dumb questions following*** haha

I am lost on this and it seems like it should be really basic. I am trying to drain and fill my fresh water tanks so I can sanitize the tanks.

1999 Sea View 8340

I want to drain it first because it says it has 2\3 tank of fresh water. So the directions that are printed on the panel (cause the ones in the manuel have two options and nethier one is the one that is in my RV ) says to "open Drain valve at tank" problems is I dont know were that is?

Look for this one on the very right with the red handle.
I don't see it in your drawings, though.

Hard to believe that little white one is the drain, but maybe it is.
Turn it and see what comes out.

My drain is at the tank under the bed. You almost have to stand on your head to see it. I open the floor panel and it is a lever on the front bottom of the tank.

I opened it and some water started coming out, but as you can see it was draining right into my storage box, and it is not a threaded fitting so I cannot connect a hose. That just does not make sense that that would be the drain for my whole water tank.

I check here. I looked under the master bed and did not see anything.

Is it under the carpet or in a compartment?
Is closer to the back or the front of the bed?
Once you open that valve were does it drain to?

I think Dunnar is probably right. The little white valve is probably the drain. I had one exactly like it on a previous Fleetwood motorhome. What I would do is use the rv's water pump to pump the water from the fresh tank to the gray via a faucet until you get air and then use that value to drain the rest of the tank. You could probably fit a piece of flex hose over the drain to get the water out unto the ground. If not, use a bucket.

Isn't that alot of water to drain through such a small opening? At with a bucket I will be going 5 gallons at a time and monitoring it the whole time.

I am going to go look under the bed in the back again when I get home. I have heard two people with Sea Views say there is a valve there

It's called a "Wet Bay" for a reason.

Where are you at that you can't just let it drain on the ground?

Open it up and go ask "Mom" it there is something else she wants you to do.

Doesn't call it a wet bay in the almighty Owners Manuel its a "Utility compartment - Plumbing Service Access"

I am at my house, I can let drain right onto the ground, Just seems pretty dumb that they could not put a hose on the thing so I dont have to let it drain into the under storage.

And as far as the mom and hand comment I don't think this is the type of forum were I can respond to that without getting the the boot Cant let that happen I still have plenty of more dumb questions to ask.

Not if the tank is so low the pump can't draw any more water from it. That's why I said pump the tank dry and then open the drain.

My drain looks like Dunnar's - it's in the wet bay with all the other plumbing connections. I am fairly sure that is your drain too as it is in the same general area as our drains.

Trying to but my mom limits my internet use till after I am done with my home work and chores

And your right I am not a RV'er I am a Offroader that bought an RV
