Thanks. We actually have our first away camping trip on July 4th weekend in a campground about 50 miles away from home. We will expand from there.

Quick update. We have camped in our front yard the past two weekends. The first time we shut the generator down at 22:00 and went to bed. We cooked breakfast the next morning and and we were done. We found it quite pleasant and peaceful. This weekend we had power all night. We had 50 amp shore power installed at our home earlier this week and used that power Friday night into Saturday. We really enjoyed that. It was still pleasant and quiet but we enjoyed having the Air conditioning coming on. Also we were able to truly enjoy the fridge. So with these two weekends together we are prepared for our first outing. Thanks for all of the advice. We bought an additional carbon monoxide detector. We have the leveling pads. The children even bought a portable grill for father's day to use while we are out. So thanks to everyone for your advice.
