Front A/C in 2002 Tradewinds cuts out

We just took our newly purchased 2002 Tradewinds LE 3770 out for its shakedown trip. We live in Vegas and didn't want to go far, so we went to Lake Mead. 106 degrees so the A/C was essential. Hooked up to shore power and both front and rear units ran fine from 3 PM will about 8PM. After that, the front unit stopped operating.
I cycled the settings on the control unit. Nothing, but it ran in fan only mode fine. Thinking it may have frozen over or something, I let it sit for a couple hours and tried again to no avail. I cycled the circuit breaker. Tried it again in the morning two times without success also.
Unhooked, and drove it home. Didn't work on generator power either. After unloading and before driving back to the storage lot, I cranked the generator again, and the front A/C started up and ran just fine. Only had it on for 10 minutes that last time.
Any ideas for what else to look at? Thanks!

Have you had it serviced? It doesn't take much for a RV tech to check out.

Were any Florescent lights on when the front unit would not work? Defective Florescent lights can disable the thermostat. Rook

Trying for anything before it goes to service...

Dan,
I plan to take it in to Camping World if I don't find anything else to look at before. I think it's going to be hard to duplicate at the service center, though.

On another note, thanks for your input before I bought this rig (you responded quickly to my emailed questions before we bought). It's been great so far, though obviously not perfect. Looking forward to getting it to a cooler climate, for a while...

Seb, I had CW over on the Boulder Hwy do a lot of work on my rig and I got to know their techs. They are good.
