Hello y'all I am already appreciating all of the knowledge and ideas here. Thanks in advance.

I am the new owner of a 2002 National Tradewinds. My machine seems to have been treated very kindly for the most part. 83000 miles on a 350 Turbo.

While attempting to replace the front overhead orange running lights with LED complete fixtures I seem to have blown a fuse that I can't find. All 5 of the top orange lights are out, all others are operational.

Still not sure how I accomplished this although I admit to possibly reversing polarity on the first fixture I was attempting to replace. 🙃

They all worked when I started.

Anyone have any ideas?

Might be located on the 12 VDC Distribution Panel....you may find that on the back wall, 2nd bay from rear, passenger side. (under cover) Rook

I wouldn't think the running lights would be on the BCC. Running lights would be part of the chassis fuse panel.

You could be right.....If not there, then look behind the panel, on the left side of wall, left of driver's left arm rest. ROOK

You mean in the console under the aux switches on the driver's left side?

Yes....on my coach there is a removable panel, two screws, several fuses and relays behind the panel

From looking at my Freightliner wiring schematics , front and rear running ( marker ) lights are all the same circuit number. Same fuse .

Because the leds are polarity sensitive , and the lights you're replacing were not , then it's possible , that ground/power were reversed from the factory and the leds simply won't work from the wiring without checking for polarity.

This is what I thought and it's why I could not understand that the only lights not working are the five above the windshield. Three of them still have the incandescent bulbs, two of them are unhooked but I seem to not have a voltage on any of these five outlets.

All other running lights on the coach operate as usual... ??

Hello all! We are now at the Bog Pine Fishing Lodge back home in the Keys and we are going through our annual checks and maintenance. We ran across something that we couldn't figure out. While working on the front lights from under the front I saw noticed the Running/Driving/Fog lights down set low on the front. I realized they did not come on when we were testing other lights. I tested the bulb and got continuity with a meter so I know it lights. There would usually be a switch but I am sure there is not one on the dash. They don't come on with the regular lights.

The manual covers all National RV's around that time period and there should be a suplement for our model but it was gone by the time we got it. Does anyone have these and how do you turn them on? Does anyone have the supplement with the specifics for the National Tropical around 2008? We lnow that somewhere there is some way of moving some other seemingly unrelated control that will turn them on and I would love to have them on.

So here's what I found out

On my National TW the front top running lights come on whenever the engine is running. They are not controlled by the light switch like all other running lights.

Is this true for your coaches or has somebody rewired mine before I purchased?

BTW the new LEDs up there look great. ��

From the factory all of my running lights are run off the light switch.

I would think that the fuse panel that Powers those upper lights would be under the auxiliary switch panel driver side. I would pull them one at a time. This will tell you if the upper lights and the lights powered by the light switch are all on the same fuse.
