Generac 5500watt quit putting out power

I was exercising the generator in my 96 Dolphin. turned on back A/C picked up load fine. After a minute turned on front A/C Ran for a minute, then all power went out. NO tripped breakers on generator or panel. Everything works fine on shore power. Removed cover on generator breaker enclosure. NO voltage on either breaker with generator running.

There may be a LED on the front of your voltage regulator. Is it illuminated when making power. Try to hold down the starter down for at least 20 seconds upon starting to energize the fields. Likely spiked your regulator. Easy change out and you can find them online. Mark your wires and take a close up picture if you to ensure you replace those tiny connections in the right place. Do not touch the new one out of the package until you have a ground to avoid static. VRs are a weakness on Generacs.

Thanks,
There is a red light on the regulator glowing when the engine is running.

When mine did that it turned out to just be a loose wire, in my case in the junction box that in the generator compartment.
I was testing with non-contact voltage tester and could see that it was making power, it just wasn't going anywhere - so started chasing the wire out of the generator.

Thanks, but in my case there is NO voltage on the load side of either breaker on the generator.
