Generac Q-55G quit producing power

On the way to the mountains last weekend the Generac kept running but wasn't producing power. Didn't realize the power wasn't on until the coach became real hot since the air conditioner wasn't on. The Generac starts with no problem but only produces 4 volts. Any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks!

Try hold the start button down for an extra second when starting. Sometimes it takes a bit more to get the exciting circuit working. If that don't work, take the plastic cover off around the switches on the generator. The regulator has 5 or 6 wires on it, on the top left corner is a red led light, watch while starting the genny. Does it stay on or does it just flicker? It may just be the regulator. Shutting down or starting a generac with a load on it is a NO NO, and will cause regulator failures. They can be bought on Ebay pretty reasonable.

(X2) hold my start switch ~ 5 seconds after engine starts.
