Generator slide lock

My name is jack and my wife and I just purchased a 2004 National Tropi-cal. We are first timers but looking to be full timers. Home for us has been SW MO but the past two years we have wintered in Mission TX. This purchase will most definitely open a new chapter in our lives.
Right off the batt I have a question about the locks on the generator slide out. I want to service the unit and the previous owners cannot find the key. That also tells me that it most likely has been a while since the gen has been serviced. There are two round locks on the slide out for the gen. They are round and the center of each lock there is a triangle that is approx 1/4 inch in size. Wondering if this is a screw lock or maybe a cam lock. I have looked on several other motorhomes hoping to find the same lock to no avail. I have checked with a couple do rv supply stores and a rv sales. That's body knows anything. So, I wonder, since this sight is made up of a lot of National owners if anyone knows what brand and type lock these are and how one could find a key for them.
Any info would be much appreciated.
I am looking of reward to reading about your experiences and learning about doing what many of you have been doing for a long time. I am sure there is much to be learned. I am in the process of servicing this coach. Motor oil, filters, air valves, fuel sediment, etc., etc.
thanks for your input

Send a message via AIM to TurtleKent
Locksmith. And if you can drive it to the shop, you might avoid a service call charge.

Circle with a triangle...

Sounds like a southco device.

A good pliers will work, needle nose style vice grips too.

1/2 turn to the left.

You also can google southco to locate their home page and you may find what you need.

Most rv supplies will not have the heavy duty stuff like this in stock as the latch is about 40 each and key about 15

See if you can find your lock on Southco attached web page. You'll probably have to go through several pages to see everything.
Products - Southco
You could email them a picture of the lock to see if it onenof theirs.

My triangular key for the generator compartment and for the access plates in the bedroom for the engine are Southco and the key says I'd give them a call and they will be able to help you.
