Angry GENRAC does not want to shut down

My GENRAC starts and runs fine, but it does't want to stop. It will eventually stop after repeated stop button presses, sometime it runs for an hour when finally the stop button shuts it down.

The kill switch on the generator does the same thing.

Shutdown circuit is usually opening the wire on the run circuit.
Some are a ground that makes them shutdown

I would look at the switch 1st and then some loose connections on a plug.

I also found here a similar issue in 2010 someone had.

The remote switch goes to 15 on the engine control board and makes contact with 14 on the control board then to the start stop switch on the generator. Take the cover off the generator and using an ohm meter go to a good ground, then push the stop switch and see if it has a path to ground. You may just have a dirty ground wire connection going to the start/stop switch. There are trouble shooting manuals on line for this generator with schematics.
