High voltage damage GE Microwave
Storage company moved RV to new building and all circuit breakers tripped but the microwave.
When I arrived I hooked up power management box to check power and found the 50 amp said 214 volts on each leg and error code E3 meaning high voltage leg 1. No power would get past this Progressive power management box.
So I ran genny and reset breakers.
The microwave does not work. All else seems ok but I have not verified Power transfer and converter/ charger yet.
Not sure why the breaker for the microwave did not trip. It is the first breaker after the main on the inside panel. Don't know if any power is reaching the microwave or if there is a breaker within the microwave that needs reset.
It is a 2003 GE Profile convection microwave model jvm149OBD003
Any thoughts appreciated and any thing I have not thought of. Any hidden damage to be concerned with?
Is it possible to repair this microwave? Is it difficult to replace and install?
Storage company is calling landlords electrician.

Yea Sam, stuff happens, we took a surge or open neutral a couple of years back.(Surge protector was in place) Filed an insurance claim and replaced the micro. The GE units were interchangeable at that time.
BTW went with Progressive Ind. Power management model.

Better tell that storage company to get their outlets wired correctly as explained here.

I am wondering how they screwed that up. The PI surge guard should have blocked power from the RV. Normal operating is that it will hold power off the RV for 3 minutes, if it sees 240 volts where it should see 110, it will hold power off the rv for ... EVER, never passing power to the RV so it should not have tripped the Microwave.
or is your unit a plug in and they plugged in without it?
IF they plugged you into an outlet they miswired,, THEN.. You need a lawyer. Also double check every electronic or electrical device in the RV to make sure they still work.

The EMS won't protect the coach if it's bypassed. The manual tells you when it's safe to bypass and when it's not. Easy to do with the remote display.

My question would be is Why did you let THEM move your RV, and didn't you verify the electric of the new building as proper for and RV. It seems that anytime a commercial electrician wires up RV outlets they treat them as 240v Welder outlets.

We had a similar thing happen to us recently. 30 amp shore power was wired 240v. We had to replace our inverter. We haven't had the coach out yet to fully confirm all appliances are good as that will have to wait until spring, but from what I can tell all are working.

CHboon, I know that, but the manual also says DO NOT BYPASS IF DISPLAY SAYS 240!! In very bold print as I recall (I have the PDF).
To the O/P, regarding fiixing the microwave,, Cost of labor for a skilled technician exceeds value of device so Microwaves are throwaways unless you know how to fix them yourself (Done a few).
As to how hard to remove.. Varies, mine is like a dozen screws, and that's it.
And Randy, this happens all the time with 30 amps... Epically when folks hire an electrician to install a TT-30 at home.. Which is part of the reason I recommend if you hire it done, put in a 50 amp outlet, They almost never screw that up.
