Holding tank vent pipe access...

Specifically - I have a 2004 Dolphin 6342. It was suggested that I might have an insect nest in the grey tank vent pipe. I went up top - pulled on the Camco Torpedo vent cover I had installed a couple years ago and up came the torpedo... attached to the black pipe. The black pipe was blocked about 12-18" up by the torpedo 'cover'. I removed the torpedo and then thought "hmmm... I wonder if this is some kind of 'sliding' connection?". I have been assured by posting this question in another forum that that is not the case. That I possibly pulled the vent pipe out of some connection.

I'm starting to get some bad smells in the coach so I'm guessing I have to dig in, find the vent pipe and ensure it is well connected to the holding tank. The question is... anyone know where to access it - full length?

I am pretty sure the vent pipe runs up a 'channel' or chase that is between the shower head / valve and the outside of the bathroom. Basically - right behind the electrical control panel. I'm also guessing that I access it by removing the panel where the fan and overhead light switch are mounted. (attaching a pic - but it's questionable quality - I used the panorama mode of my phone and turned it sideways... the panel I'm thinking is outlined in blue)

Can any of you Dolphin owners confirm that before I start pulling things apart and create even MORE problems for myself?

Thanks!
Arden

Don't have a Dolphin or a MH

BUT
Pipes going into top of tanks (vents, drains etc) are typically GLUED to a ftting on the tank
OR
Slip into a Grommet on the tank

Did you try pushing the pipe back in.........should be even with roof line

If you pulled the pipe UP 12" you probably need to access the top of tank to align pipe and push it back in
