Well, the Toshiba SD-V57HT home theater system is caput after 12 years.
What on earth do we replace it with and still have the sound in the coach?

We replaced the old CRT TV in the front of our MH about 3 years ago with a Samsung Smart TV in a televator lift. It works great for when we both want to watch something. For personal viewing, such as when my DW is reading, I also have a Vuzix iWear Video Headphones ($299.99).

This gives me my own personal 125 inch HD home theater experience with a great sound system that does not bother my wife's reading. It connects to the HDMI port on the Mac-Mini based media server I have installed in our coach. It houses a huge collection of TV shows and movies and uses Kodi to keep current on all the latest releases.

Actually, we are just looking for the CD/DVD player having replaced the CRT 8 years ago. Just want one that will hook up to the Toshiba speakers and work.

You can hook up any 5.1 surround system to it. When mine went bad, I upgraded to a Blueray system. Used the same speakers and sub woofer.
