How To Adjust Crooked Power Gear Slideout
Just started happening . . .
One side of the slide out went out crooked. To keep the side out even, I had to push on it from the outside while my wife brought the side in.
The same now goes for pushing one side OUT.
This is getting old. What to do? We leave on a long trip Sunday.

I suspect you have wear issues in the drive shaft that runs between the two drive pinion gears on the two slide supports .
Time to get under the slide when extended and have a look around ; and hopefully the drive shaft is on the outside of the frame rail and not inside and hidden by a closure panel.
I got this Power Gear pdf, before the company was taken over by Lippert have a look at the various slide drive diagrams and if you can identify yours ,and the page # , I can tell you where to look for problems .

I had to change the front bushing on our big slide. It would jump a gear. I got the bushing from lippert for around $4 plus shipping.

Check the bolt that holds the 2 halfs of shaft together. There is also a round connector with 2 or 3 bolts that can be used to align.

It's possible that the pin holding one of the gears on the shaft sheared. That has occurred on my Tradewinds with similar symptoms. I repaired it myself and readjusted the slide per the instructions so it is doable.

Very likely to be your shear pin; it’s designed to break first to save your motor and rack. The pin holds the drive cog onto the rack. It costs about 50c to replace but a bit of a fiddle

Yep, a mobile repair service inserted new shear bolts and aligned the side.
Repairman had good things to say about our 20+ year rack & pinion Power Gear system vs newer in-wall slide out systems.

The dreaded Schwintek in wall slide drive .
I'll bet the mobile repair man has a special rate for that system and offers no estimates for the cost of repair or warranty past 30' or 30 seconds .

Yeah, when he described repairing them, it was hard to believe. Apparently, the slide out motors are essentially drill motors connected to worm gears with flimsy wiring.
