Hi Steve

Sorry to hear of your problems. If you have spoken to the shop that did the install, what did they say? Is this the same sound / symptom of the original problem that changing out the gear was to fix? Did you see the gears that came out - anything visually observed as the original problem?

When they removed the old gears did they say anything about an unusual wear pattern on the gears indicating that the "Gear Lash" was off? It could be that when they installed the new gears they missed an issue with the housing it's self causing the new gears to now be set up properly (Gear Lash).

When you lift off gas does it get lesson the sound? If so it is pinion bearing, improper preload could cause premature failure. If the noise starts out less and increases with speed it is either a carrier bearing our ring and pinion lash. If it was ok to start with after repairs I would lean toward a bearing problem. Also check rear tires as sometimes it is very difficult to pin noises down or an axel bearing could be it.
