HWH problem

Here we go again. 1997 Dolphin F53 chassis. Put new chassis battery in a week ago. Went out yesterday to check operation of HWH levelers. Prior to this noted previous owner had disconnected one of two wires for the large red warning light placarded "Do not move coach" because when connected, light stayed on no matter what. I checked hydraulic reservoir, added 3/4 pint of Dexron to bring up to proper level. Light still stayed on so disconnected wire in question. Yesterday set up to activate levelers. Pushed "on" button with coach in "park" emergency brake on, levelers did what they are supposed to do twice-up and down. In my infinite wisdom I figured now would be the time to hook the one wire back up as system operating as needed. Got it hooked up, light blinked on and off as I presume it is supposed to do to get drivers attention that jacks down. However, jacks were up. About 10 seconds into this, the chassis power to the cab shut down. No fans, map lights instruments, starter. Nada. Now to start it, I must use aux batteries in coach. Everything works with those batteries EXCEPT the HWH on/off button and therefore the levelers. What in the world would cause the chassis battery to go off line ? I have little hair left after dealing with all the problems with this coach but this one has me stumped. Thanks for reading through this post.

Suggest you download manual and troubleshooting guide from HWH website. It sounds like one of the sensors that detects jacks up is bad and not sending proper signal to control panel. Previous owner, rather than repair, just disconnected light.

Tech Support, Manuals, Online Schools

The loss of power sounds like ignition relay or the like. I believe relays are in a plastic box with other fuses and relays for chassis operation.
