Inverter Humming

Is it normal for a Freedom 458 Inverter to hum?

I don’t have the a Freedom Inverter but ours does hum a little. Not very loud but you can hear it. Most all inverters will hum a little but if you believe it is excessive then I would look for loose mounting hardware or panels.

It’s louder if batteries need charging or if it under a heavy load.

I have the same inverter and I notice that it hums a little but it seems to be worse if the battery cables are touching the side of the battery cabinet because of the slight vibration of the cables.

Yes, they hum while charging your batteries. Normal.
