Is Generator Using Gasoline or Propane?

None of the manuals that came with this 07 Dolphin say whether the generator uses gasoline or propane for fuel. How do I find out?

If the generator runs, the exhaust smell will tell you.

It must be fueled by gasoline then, because the propane tank has been off. Thanks!

Keep in mind a gas generator will shut off when it gets down to about a quarter tank of gas.

Normally, generators share a fuel tank with powertrain of the coach. So, if it's a DP, then it's normally a diesel gen, gas engine - gas gen. Notice the post above this one, however, because a lot are set to not function if the fuel tank is at or below 1/4 tank. That way you don't get yourself stranded because the gen drank all the fuel.

Good to know, thanks!

The RV does not have a diesel engine.

LP gennys almost always have two regulators on the tank. One for the house and one for the genny.
