Jacks leaking....

Two of my 4 Leveling Jacks are seeping fluid around the bottom seal. Not real serious, but it takes about 1/2 quart of Dexron III every 2 months to top off the resovior.

It occured to me that maybe "Transmission Stop Leak" would re-vitalize the seals and stop the leak!

Anybody tried that? Rook

I read on another post where someone did use stop leak and it worked out for him. Also check to see if your jacks have a zerk fitting on them if so a little shot of grease may do the trick. Or take them off and have them rebuilt. Have rebuilt 3 of mine.

One of mine leaked a bit. I extended them all, and used that brake cleaner from Walmart. I wiped them down and then sprayed them with Fluid Film, no more leaks. Fluid Film is awesome I was introduced to it in Nov 2014 from a friend. My stairs use to not fully retract. After cleaning them with the spray brake cleaner we sprayed Fluid Film on all the pivot areas on the stairs and almost two years later my stairs retract and extend as good as new. We bought it on line, but I did find it at Lowes in the Tool department and bought a few cans. $9.95 each. Red cap and gray can.

Rook, yes I've been adding Lucas Transmission Fix to mine and I think my leak has now sealed. Be sure to only fill your reservoir when the jacks are retracted. I also gave each jack a shot of grease at the zerk fitting.
