Question Kwikee Electric Step

The Triple Kwikee Step on my 2007 National SeaBreeze decided to extend while the RV was moving at about 15mph. It got caught by the iceplant and shrubs along the driveway and totally bent the step frame. The RV is OK but the step is beyond repair.

Does anyone know of a source for a replacement step? It needs to be a step with the same 6 mounting bolt pattern in order to fit the 2007 SeaBreeze.

Thanks for responding. -Jim-

When I had my 2006 SeaBreeze, I also got my direct replacement from PPL. Very easy to swap out.

Kwikee step failure

My 3-step unit has seized into the retracted position. Before trying to diagnose the problem using the owners' manual, I tried to contact Kwikee to see if they still sold replacement parts. Neither their phone number nor website were in service. Have you folks replaced your steps with a different brand, and if so, which one, and why? Many thanks!

I have also damaged my steps by driving away with the switch in the "Out" position instead of "Auto" It only bent the flat steel portions of the steps. I removed the step assembly from the coach, drilled out several of the rivets at the folding joints then straightened out the flat steel parts. repainted parts, I reassembled the unit using stainless steel bolts with nylock nuts (instead of rivets) and it works fine again.
In the future when I damage them again (not if I damage it ) it will come apart easier because of the bolts. lt cost almost nothing to fix.
Good Luck,

Mike
