Lav water faucet leaking

My lav sink water faucet leaks when you turn on the water. It does not leak much just enough to annoy you. Is there an adjustment to stop the leaking or do I have to get a new one?

If you're hooked up to city water, turn the hydrant off. If on your water pump, turn it off. No pressure, no drip.
I'd begin by removing the handle(s) and under the handle(s) you should find a large hex nut. Use a wrench and unscrew the cartridge. Take the cartridge to a home improvement store or a plumbing supply store and buy a new cartridge. (or two if you two handles, hot and cold) If no cartridge is available, you could replace the whole faucet with a new one.

Thanks for the reply. It is a single handle and I do not see any way of getting it off. Help please.

Single handle faucets usually have a set screw (hex bolt) clamping the handle to the shaft. It might have a rubber plug covering the hole.

Lee, Bob is correct. There is a set screw on the bottom side of the lever. National usually used Phoenix faucets. Here is there website Phoenix Faucets . They have rebuild kits for the faucets. I purchased a kit and it stopped the leak. That was several years ago. Since then I also purchased a new faucet from them because my faucets ws looking bad. You'll find their rates very reasonable.
