Led Wiring

I just got 2 led lights for my overhead from Star Lights. Their instructions were good, both online and printed, but my problem isn't in the instructions. When wired like they said the lights work only by the switch on the fixture. I had a wall switch that acted like a master where one could turn on one or both overheads if the fixture switch was on. Or you could leave the master on and operate each light through the fixture independently.

Now the problem. Once wired per instructions the wall switch would not affect the overhead. The only way to turn on the light was through the fixture switch. I even disconnected the wall switch altogether and yet the overhead still turned on and off via it's own switch.

What am I missing? Any ideas where or how I can find a fix to this?
Thanks, Mark

One more thing; the wall switch operated 2 overhead fixtures only.

I think it's obvious, the wires you tapped for the new lights weren't on the same circuit that the wall switch controlled. You'll have to figure out the circuit the wall switch is on and rewire the new lights to be on that circuit if you want the wall switch to control them.

You would have a probable idea except what I didn't say was that I checked the switch to make sure it was the circuit for the lights I wanted to change. After more thought I'm thinking there may be another switch I'm not familiar with and are not taking it into account. But right off hand I don't know where that other switch might be. Any ideas?
