Lippert Motor

Hi,

Just bought a 1998 National Tropical. Inside almost immaculate, outside clean. My problem .. the slide-out motor was fried. Previous owner put an on-off-on toggle switch instead of a momentary switch. Long story short, the switch was left in the on position .. fried the motor. Lippert wants $1150 for a new motor/gearbox. Anyone know of a refurb unit in this universe ? The motor I need is a 386683.

My goal as a retired person is to see the world (USA) and enjoy what is left of my life. My almost significant other has never traveled so she will also enjoy this.

Might want to call Visone RV Parts - they are a motor home dismantler in KY... 606-843-9889 9a-5p Eastern time.

When I googled "Lippert OR motor" 386683 I got several hits in the $1100-$1200 region and then this:
https: // www.etrailer.com/dept-pg-Accessories_and_Parts-pt-Slide_Out_Parts-pc-Motor.aspx
at about $325.

And this is the motor plus the gearbox for $854:
https: // www.rvupgradestore.com/Power-Gear-Slide-Out-Motor-DSHT-W-Boot-Pin-B-p/387738.htm

I also got this from amazon, but I can't figure out why as there is no 386683 anywhere on the page...

Thanks for the info. From this forum I now have several sites to check. Sometimes a DC motor can be rebuilt, but in my case all the guts were damaged beyond repair.
