Liquid Roof or Aliphatic Polyurethane ????

Back to my favorite forum for advice. You guys are a great resource!

My EPDM roof is starting to look pretty spotty and chalks even after a thorough cleaning. I don't have any leaks, but the chalking down the sides of the rig is a pain. There is also some peeling of a thin layer in spots on the roof as well. Looks like its time to do something about it.

Looking at products available, I'm finding liquid EPDM products (such as Liquid Roof brand) and Aliphatic Polyurethane products (like Grizzly Grip brand).

The Aliphatic Polyurethane products seem to be related to the spray on truck bedliners and deck coating products. They claim to be UV resistant and very durable. The EPDM seems like the historic choice.

Any experience out there with these options? Thanks in advance

Karl

We did our 98 Tradewinds with the Liquid Roof product 3 years ago, I would recommend it.

Karlos I to have a Seaview 8341 2000 year model & the roof is
FIBERGLASS. are you sure yours is EPDM? better check again.
i've been on the roof of mine many times & know it's
FIBERGLASS. mine was built in February 2000. I bought mine
new & in all the literature from National states they were built
with Fiberglass roofs. I know manufactures change things
during year but even my 2001 literature says Fiberglass.

2 years ago I had a couple of leaks in the roof that were caused by a branch that fell on the MH and the insurance company paid to have a new PVC roof put on. No black streaks and the first time I cleaned it allI had to do was hose it off, but this time I I did it with a brush and the dirt came right off. You also don't have to do any maintainence to it other than checking your caulking periodically. No recoating. Both of the shops that I take my rig to do the PVC roofs and say they don't like to because there's no returns for them.

Hi two slides

My 2000 seaview has a flexible membrane roof. I assume it is EPDM but could be some other material. It is definately not a hard skin. I even have some areas that have delaminated from the roof structure and bubbled where there were old leaks. Didn't know that era Sea Views were available with fiberglass tops. Thanks.
