Most are in the bay where your electrical cord comes out of.

My 99 Tradewinds has it in the rear port side bay where the shore power cable plugs in. It's the larger box on the left in this picture. Ignore the meters, I added them and they aren't standard.

Yep, mine is right next to the plug in on my 2001 TradeWinds. Is this what you wanted to know or are you asking about an actual switch you activate to transfer power from shore power to the generator?

Transfer switch

I am looking for the switch that transfers power from shore to generator. I am being told this is probably where my problem is. The AC's, microwave, etc will not come on when on the generator. Would appreciate your suggestions. Thanks

Your Transfer Switch is automatic and is where I showed you in the picture. When the Genny is turned on it will pick up the relays in that box after 30 seconds delay. There is no switch to throw by hand. Take off the cover and rap the relays with a piece of wood. After a few years they get residual magnetism and don't pick up. Same as folks use to find in pinball machine relays and solenoids. Be very careful inside that box, as it switches the "Deadly Shipmate 115VAC". If rapping on them WITH WOOD doesn't help then you will probably need a new box. They cost around $150 and should be installed by a pro to avoid any potential fire hazards.

Before you do what Dick said, open up the your door on the genny and check to see if the breaker tripped, they do that sometimes.

Make sure the lugs are all tight in the transfer switch. I had a loose wire in mine and it kept the load from transferring.

Good Luck!!
