This is an update to my prior question if any one knew how to get info on manually cranking out my slide (should the motor fail). Well guys, really disappointed, contacted Powergear, Lippert & RBW, so far no help. Found that if the makers don't have their motor on the slide they won't help. RBW tech support is by email, they say they will respond in 2 hours or less, it's been 36 hours, still nothing. Their web site also shows who the coach manufacturers they supply & National was one of them.
I'm getting the impression that if you aren't buying they don't want to bother to help.
There must be someone who has gone through this with their Von Weise motor. It's not a good feeling when you don't know how to bring the slide in manually.

The information I have on manually retracting the RBW Slide System on my 2005 SeaBreeze calls for first disconnecting the wire harness located at the printed circuit board next to the 12V distribution panel in the forward compartment, passengers side. A drawing in the Supplement to my Owners Manual shows a circuit board called Slide Room Controller with 6 relays and 3 connectors for wire harnesses identified as Main, Bed, and Third. These appear to be 2 conductor terminals. I found this panel in my MH mounted on the wall of the compartment, next to the Power Distribution Panel, mounted horizontally. The 3 wire harnesses are clearly visible. I have 2 cables equipped, one socket empty. A fuse is also on the panel (for future reference.)
I believe a logical trouble shooting procedure would be to remove the applicable wire harness, and try to operate the slide with the switch. Pulling the fuse couldn't hurt either. If the slide is inoperable, assume you have properly disabled the board. Then you should be able to move the slide in or out by turning the square shaft running horizontally across the compartment. It will require a lot of cranking. I keep an adjustable wrench in the basement for this, which I have tried and it worked.
Im on the road and can't afford to screw something up, so I can't verify this for you. This appears to e the procedure suggested by the manufacturer and National RV. Good luck.

Checked your info on my slide and you were right on the money - thank you for your help.
Took it in this morning for smog, they couldn't find the "on-board diagnostic" plug to scan it, the check engine light had come on. Got the light to go out, back on Monday for smog. Thanks again & if you happen to know where that plug is please let me know.

If is a Ford chassis, under the dash right side of the steering column may be attached and a cover on it over the connectors.

Send a message via ICQ to Fred and Bonnie
Rick, if it's a Workhorse, the plug is under the dash, about 4" left of the steering column.
