National rv line-up

I own a Sea Breeze and understood that it was the "low end" model of the National line up. Now wondering where the Surf Side stands in the lineup. I am looking at a 2007 Surf Side and looking over the pictures it appears to me to be very similar to my Sea Breeze with some notable differences. I see the kitchen does not have Corian surfaces and looks like seat upholstery and trim is all fabric vs vinyl. It looks like the compartment doors are more solidly built and open sidewards rather than top hinge , and in this case full body paint too, rather than my gel coat.

Can you tell me where this model fell in the lineup, and what other differences to expect in interior quality. By the way, mine is a 2004 and what I am looking at is a 2007, so I suspect the engine will be 3 valve model vs 2 valve in my model and possibly a different transmission too. I assume will still have a fiberglass roof?

I can find no brochures online for the 2007 National lineup so hard to compare. Any link would be appreciated if you have one.

Thanks

The Surf Side was introduced in 99 or 2000, as an entry level coach. I was looking at a 2000 a couple years ago and it appears the baggage doors were some type of plastic. The coach I was inquiring about had significant damage to the baggage doors so I canceled the trip to look at it. It was 350 miles from my home and the salesman was pretty honest, but it took a lot to get him to tell me everything that needed repair on the coach. He did actually send me some pics of all the damage on the coach. Good thing I didn't make the drive to look at it, I'd have been mighty upset to say the least. Newer is NOT always better.

Don't assume it has a fiberglass roof. I think I read where National went to a rubber or TPO roof on some of the later coachs. You should be able to find the specs on the coach on line.

In 2004 Surf Side was the entry model, Seabreeze was next up, standard and LX.
Same order in 2007, the link below may help you on the 07 Surf Side

Hey quick question for the experts.

I have a Sea Breeze 2004 8341 LX that is Cherry. I know Dolphins are suppose to be a step up but I personaly don't see any difference. I would not trade my Sea Breeze for any Dolphin that I personally have seen. Anyone know the difference?

In about 6 years we will retire. We hope to possibly get a Diesel pusher.
I know the Pacifica is National RV'S top Model. What is the difference between Tropical,Tradewinds and Pacifica? Any one know?

Thanks in advance for your help

For what it's worth the differences between product lines was mostly cosmetic, furnishings and exterior trim.

When I visited the factory it was pointed out that all coaches shared the same construction.

That's right from what I've seen too Dolphin has nicer trim, cherry and maple cabinets vs oak, two latches on bay doors, porcelain toilet, sprayer, full leather (or maybe faux leather) on front seats, nicer recliner, etc.. no significant structural improvements that I'm aware of.

Thanks Trode

Great answer..Just what I was looking for.

I already have nice leather seats. ( They may have been ordered or updated by prevoius owner). Added a a sprayer. No porclean toilit. I also have the Oak cabinets, which we like (old school). but motorhome feels not dark at all, with the lighter cabinets.

Anyone know about Tradewinds vs Tropcial vs Pacifica? Kinda the same difference in cabinets etc?

My regular Dolphin has oak cabinets. There has to be some differences though, they did cost more. I don't what the differences are, but the LX had Maple cabinets compared to Oak, I prefer the Oak myself. The leather captains seat were an option on the regular Dolphin, which mine has. It also has the thermopane window option.

I looked at the spec sheet for the Sea Breeze, doesn't appear there is much differences. The Dolphin does have a Fantastic Fan and an inverter. It may also have a larger refrigerator with ice maker.

Sounds like a lot of options may have been standard vs optional. My Sea Breeze has the Fantastic fan and the Inverter. Maybe added when purchased.

Still interested in Tradewinds vs Tropical. Hoping aomeone would chime in. Not that big of a deal as almost everything can be added or updated.
