2008 National Pacifica 36'

Hello everyone: we're looking at a 2008 National Pacifica 36' (has a king bed) - we had never heard of this brand of RV before and came upon it by accidence and now I've discovered this forum. Was 2008 the last year National was in business and is there anything we should watch out for?

We have a 2008 Pacifica 40D. We bought it new in 2009 after National's demise. We LOVE it! We have had no issues with the house or the chassis. Only problem is the electric step cover has to have a little help to come up even. They are tall and some of the mirror placements make you very wide.

Our Pacifica has 4 slides, 1 1/2 baths, queen bed. We full-time.

We did run into another 2008 Pacifica last month in Yuma who had a CAT engine and they had to have it replaced. We have a Cummins so don't know anything about CAT problems/concerns. It could have been a fluke.

Moscow,

We bought our '08 Pacifica P40E in September and just love all the space. One thing to look at is the DOT codes on the tires. If they are the original tires, then you will likely need to buy tires very soon $$$. Our tires look new but everything I read says they need to be replaced in 7-10 years regardless of wear. Our '08 has an 07 chassis so ours are pushing 8 yrs old.... Read the Tire threads.

I know from Rick Baxter that there were 50 Pacifica 36a's between 2006 and November 2007 when they shut down.

2001 40' Diesel ISLANDER by National RV

Hey guys I just purchased a 2001 40' Diesel Islander by National RV 5 months ago. Having problems locating electrical issue with driving headlights and auto leveling panel, and backup Aux battery boost switch. They all stopped working at same time. I pulled/checked every breaker/fuse in/out of rig but can't figure it out. Is there a relay switch somewhere or fuses under the dash? Please help...thanks!

Also please add me to the group!

Karma ? I'll take and give all I have :)

02' Islander with GREAT vibes... Everything seems to be working.
Front A/C seems a bit light on Freon ..

I'm going totally mobile and living on the road. Leaving next Thursday 5/8

I REALLY hope to meet some of the great folks I've messaged here.
Sincerely,
Mr. Ed

Update on my 02 Islander !

I've just returned home from a thousand mile trip across Georgia to Fla. and back up the east coast thru Charleston.. I'm home in the upstate and can report EVRYTHING worked as it should have!

I guess I was expecting something to go sideways but even the ice maker worked!
Only issue was the state of the highways here in South Carolina.. it gave my tow behind trailer a massive magnitude 9.0 shake-up..

Cuemaker.. I'm very happy with my 02' so I say "Go For IT!"

UPDATE to the above problems mentioned. It was the dashboard headlights (Carling) rocker switch got hot burnt one of the seven wires/connectors. Had hard time finding a similar switch here locally but was lucky to find one at Grainger in Houston...30 miles away. Leveling panel seemed to correct itself as it was working again before I installed new headlight switch. Aux Battery boost switch still not working but havent had time to dig into looking at it.

Ray...the answer depends on what you need. Is the part needed related to the chassis or the house? I'm a new owner to a 2001 Islander by National RV/Country Coach and I'm also looking for more parts websites for future help. I saw this site on a post recently as I was trying to find a new headlight dashboard rocker switch: Northwest RV Supply. This site actually had the switch but I needed it immediately as we were leaving out of town next day. I was able to find the switch at a local Grainger supply store. Grainger Industrial Supply - MRO Products, Equipment & Tools
Keep reading the forums and might see other sites...and eventually you'll have more members of this site reply and help as well. Goodluck!
