New National Owner 2002 Islander

My 1st motor coach purchase is a used 2002 Country Coach (by National) Islander 9401.
Its a locally owned coach with 48K miles and 2 years of a bumper to bumper warranty (in transfer) remaining. 2 Slides, new Michelins and Batteries.. Meticulously kept.
I feel like I won the lottery!
I probably paid all it's worth, but its so nice, smooth, fast, and appointed like a Prevost!
Seems to need a few little things.. like chrome mirror mounts (cracked, not broken chrome) and some light fiberglass work on the bottom of a couple doors. nothing major, a couple inch cracks, but not broken. Its showing some faded paint in the "darker painted areas" low on both sides.

Look forward to being a member of the group and will be NATIONWIDE shortly!

Welcome Ed

The Islander was at the top of a really well made line in 2002. Great looking coach. We've had our Tradewinds since 2007 and couldn't be happier. Good choice.

Here is a link to all the Documentation we got with it in case you didn't get papers. National used the same OEM stuff for the most part and the three years between them probably leaves a lot in common.

Ed, you have an Islander made by National RV, Perris,CA. The only thing that is close to a CC is the DynoMax chassis which was bought from CC. It was modified by cutting holes in the frame tubes so that the slide mechanism could go through the tube. Everything else was made in the Perris,CA plant.

If you have a mirrored wall behind the front slide, be careful when driving over rough terrain as the edge of the slide can hit the mirror and break it.

Thanks Don..
I'm seeing the mix of manufacturing results.. My friend has a 1999 C.C. Magnum
and there are many shared features.. yet many differences.

BTW, I have an abundance of books, schematic's and manuals on every item in the coach. One 14x14 case full plus an additional "quick reference" manual
