Check to see if you have the J type pipe behind the grill for the air intake or some type of intake other then the stock opening at the bottom of the air cleaner. Well documented problem with water getting into the air cleaner in HEAVY rain while driving. Loss of power when wet.
If you are doing your own maintance oil changes, filter, lube, etc. On the e brake on the drive shaft on the drivers side above the e brake cable is a plug. You need to take the plug out every once in a while and check the fluid level it should be level with the bottom of the hole. Only holds a few oz of transmission fluid but you don't want it to go dry. When lubing there is a grease fitting on the steering box don't forget that one.
