We are looking into purchasing a 2001 Tradewinds LTC with a Generac diesel generator. Unfortunately the lady's husband passed away 14 mos. ago and she knows very little about the coach. She and her husband purchased it new.
The generator starts and runs fine, but does not get any power to the coach at all. Everything works fine plugged in to shore power. I have flip the breaker on the top of the Generac, and flipped the breakers on and off inside the coach all look good. Does anyone have any thoughts or possibilities for getting electricity inside. I told her I would try to figure things out myself, but an stumped on this.
I can't believe National didn't put an Onan in this nice of a motor home.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Larry

I don't believe that this coach has an auto tranfer switch. Have you looked to see if the shore power cord is plugged in to the receptacle in the bay?

Hi Larry,
Thanks for your response.
There is a black box next to the landline plug in that says, POWER SWITCH, under that it says: automatic transfer switch. Our Sea View didn't have the transfer switch, so I'm familiar with the plug in of the shore power cord.
The owner said there is a surge protector, but I think she is referring to another box in that compartment that says: Electrical Power Management system.
Our first two motor homes had automatic power switches. The Sea View didn't. Maybe I should have been happy with the old fashioned plug in.
Thanks again,
Larry

Larry,
Sorry it was not that easy! I am with you, we also had a Sea View and the simple and reliable plug in of the shore power cord to the receptacle was bullet proof.
Maybe the power managment system has a braker or fuse???
Let us know what you find.

Well, I got inside the Transfer Switch box and found some of the connections were loose. Tightened them up and BINGO it works just fine.
Got cold air inside, the microwave works, etc. etc. Thanks a million for your thoughts and comments.
