I have intermittant sound loss from the T.V. It's old, but before I remove it, could it be anything else causing the sound loss. It also happens with the DVD player and thats new.

I had some loose connections on the audio plugs and that caused sound coming and going. No problem since corrected. P.S. you could not tell the connections were loose just by looking at them.

Re-seat both ends of the the connectors on one lead till you get sound at one point, then concentrate on the other sound output.

No sound from a TV how lucky can you get?

Had a very low sound issue when routing sound from TV thru the surround sound system. Turned out to be a bad in line noise filter on the surround sound system. Removed the noise filter everything now works as advertised.
