Obd 1 or obd2 ?

!998 DOLPHIN WITH CHEVY VORTEC... built on 1997 frame, which do i have or how do i tell?

OBD2, can't tell you where the connector is but I'd start checking around the steering column.

yes, found connector... just not sure if it is obd1 or obd2,,, want to buy an ultra-gauge and need to know if i have obd2 so it will work,, Thanks

96 and later should be ODB2. ODB1 and ODB2 connectors are visibly different. Google for visuals of the two connectors and compare to what you have to be double sure.

Got it... was looking at the wrong connector... found the correct obd2... Thanks... now... what is the odd looking connector at the base of the fuse panel?

Photo would help but I'm guessing that is your aux power connection panel if it's at the base of a fuse block. OH, and you may have a 2nd fuse box hidden somewhere too (Like top center under the hood).

That is for cars and light trucks only. F250's and bigger were OBD1 in 97 and 98 (460 powertrains). The GM data connector does look similar to an OBD2 connector. Should be able to tell from a picture.

WOW....

Got Ultra-gauge in today... EASY install... TOO much info , good to know stuff and some I have to read up on... AS ADVERTISED... Will let you know on updates on the road...
