Onan 8000 QD

I have the 2008(7) National Tropical. When I first picked it up the generator started just fine. I went to start it again the next day and all I get is the error code 32. I've checked the 3 fuses, coolent. But the oil is bad. I tried to have it changed but they said they couldn't because it wouldn't start.

So I'm thinking change it cold. And see if that works. If not I'm thinking starter solenoid.

My question is am I overlooking something simple? Or do I just need to take this thing out and just replace the solenoid?

The error code is 32 which states that it is either low on oil or the battery doesn't have enough cranking power to start it for more than 2 seconds.

That is what came up on Google so have you checked the oil and is the battery up to snuff?

Yes battery's are new. But like I said the oil is old. Black. But the repair shop said they could not change it because it would not start. I'm going to change it cold tomorrow to see if that works.

The engine doesn't know the age or condition of the oil.

It only knows the level, not running or the pressure if running.

Changing it will not help your problem.

If you check it and its up to the full line, its fine.

OK, is it cranking ( spinning over ) when you hold the start switch or is it doing nothing. ( no sound ) ?

Oil change

All it needed was a little love. Oil change and new filter it started right up.
