Power Gear Jacks bearings

OK, my leveling jacks have the screaming bearing syndrome!

I am attempting to replace the bearing as the motor is quite expense!

I have gotten this far (in photo). Question is how does the armature come out,

1. force it
2. Use a bigger hammer
3. Find the magic button to release it so it will fall out on my foot!

Hi,

Never had to work on mine (knock on wood) however it appears the motor brushes are holding the thing together. There must a way to remove and or change the brushes. They are spring loaded to maintain contact. I would assume they are large brushes due to the motor current. There should be one on each side.

silence is golden

Got the bearing Friday, worked on reassembling over the weekend (along with other stuff) and after figuring out where all the extra parts went, finally got everything together this AM. RV goes up and down and you can even carry on a conversation while doing so.

Cost of bearing $3.60 (free shipping with other stuff, thanks to Amazon).

2 gal Transmission fluid $21. @Walmart (need fluid change anyway)

Satisfaction/fun of DIY w/help for IRV2 Priceless

Thanks to all that posted to my thread, and the ones I found via search.

Harold
