Power Gear Leveling Neutral Safety Switch Problem

Hello. Newbie here. I have a 2005 Seebreeze Lx. The leveling system is Power Gear Manual Hydraulic. The Control Panel is #500731. They have worked flawesly since I purchased it new on 8/2004. In preparing for a trip I tried to level the MH. When I pressed the power on button the Power Led light and the wait Led light began to blink. Yes the hand brake is on. Yes the hudraulic fluid level is OK. And yes the MH is in Park. I contacted Power Gear and they said the blinking power light and the blinking wait light was indicating that the Heutral Saftey Switch was not being detected. They said to check the six point main Power Connecter. The number 2 pin and the number 6 pin indicate the Neutral Saftey Switch. They should both test the same either both Neg Ground or Pos Power. I checked mine and the number 2 pin was Neg Ground the number 6 pin was Pos Power. OOPS. Now it gets tough. What is the fix for this. Power Gear says it is a Chasiss problem which is Workhorse and Workhorse says it is a power gear Problem. . There appears to be no problem with the Neutral Safety Switch as the MH Engine would not start if it was defective. So I turn to the people here who may have had the same problem and somehow found the solution

On my 05 work horse chassis it doesn't use the nutral saftey switch but it does use the parking brake switch.

Check the switch that is attached to the emergency brake pedal. My 5355 dolphin does the same thing, when I wiggle the spade connector the system starts to work correctly. the switch has only one wire that furnishes the ground for the levelers. It is not hard to find after you get in the tight space.

Thanks for the thoughts. I don't think in my case it is the Brake switch as there is a seperate LED light for the parking brake and it will come on if I disengage the parking brake and go off when I reingage the parking brake.

Send a message via ICQ to Fred and Bonnie
We had the same issue in 2009, Redlands Truck repaired the ground wire for the neutral switch wiring.
