Quick question......I think....

Afternoon all!!....hope everyone is well.....I am in the process of fixing several small items on my 2004 - 1341 Sea Breeze and one of them is to check the microphone that is supposed to be connected to the backup camera....it's never worked since I bought it and the previous owner said there was one and it worked...the question is, where would it be located?....I've looked where the camera is mounted, as well as under the coach with no luck....I'm not even sure what it looks like so any help from the group is appreciated greatly!!!!!......

I think the microphone is integral with the camera.

You might want to check that you have the volume turned way up. It should be on the same mounting where the screen is. On ours you can only hear the person outside, the person outside cannot hear the driver(fortunately haha).

Quick question......I think....

Hey homecan1, that was my first thought...I took the shroud off that covers the camera and didn't see anything resembling a microphone on the camera itself....I checked pretty good I think, but maybe I need to poke around a little better just to make sure....maybe I missed it.....

Mike I have it cranked wide open but nothing.....and good thing it only works one way is correct!!.....

The microphone is likely just a small hole similar to what you would find on a cell phone. The do make cameras without microphones as well. Can you get to the back of the monitor and check that all cables are plugged in? I had an older coach that had a separate cable for audio.

Quick question......I think....

Hey everybody, just a quick update for everyone....I took the shroud off the backup camera and got up there with a flashlight and sure enough found the hole on the right side if the camera for the microphone....I went into the coach and put a CD playing out back in a portable radio and with the volume inside cranked could hear it very low....I checked connections and all were tight...I went back to the camera and figure I had nothing to lose so I shot some contact cleaner in the hole and hit it with a little compressed air....a little debris came out and I went inside and the volume was a little louder but still low....I took the whole camera off the coach, undid a couple screws and checked inside and it all looks fine....after reassembling everything it's still very low so I'm guessing the microphone may be just shot......while it was off I did get the model number and looked at the manual online and verified there was a microphone in there so that is confirmed....I've gone 5 years without it so no big deal.....I just figured I'd check it out since I was doing some other Spring maintenance and it's always puzzled me....

Thanks to all for their input.....as always, it's greatly appreciated....love the advice and sometimes just the encouragement from the group to tackle some of these projects.....
