Releasing air from air bags

Just purchase a 2002 Tradewinds and having trouble getting the air to dump out of the air bags. I have voltage to both sides of the switch but nothing happens. Is there a somthing that I may be missing? Any ideas wher I should look next? Thanks in advance.

Are you trying to dump the bags while the engine is still running? You'll not be able to dump air.

Shut the motor off then turned the key back on and tried to get them to dump still no luck. Is there a solenoid or something like that that could be bad. I was able to contact the previous owner and according they said they had no problems with it.

Call 1-800-FTL-HELP with your VIN and ask a Freightliner tech in Gafney. They are great in helping you over the phone. They will know everything about your chassis by using your VIN. I had a problem with my auto-dump bags not inflating a year and a half ago. I called them and they took me through the process of lowering the jacks again and bringing them back up. The solenoid that controlled the inflation hadn't worked the first time I put the jacks up but after cycling them the bags filled. I haven't had any problems with them since but the tech explained that if I had continued problems, the solenoid would have to be replaced. Your system is a manual dump so it's different than mine but their are solenoids in both systems. I'd give them a call.

My chasis is a country coach dinamax. If yours is freightliner they should be able to identify your problem.

releasing air from airbags

OK, I got my problem solved, you know the old saying patience is a virtue, well I was expecting to hear the air release like my brother-in-laws coach does. His coach has a manual release and mine is electric, therefore the air is released a little slower but it does release now.
I appreciate all of the replies I have gotten this is such a wonderful tool to have access to.
Thanks again

Mine dumps with the engine running. I pull into the site, hit the dump switch and start the leveling jacks down. After the coach is level, I shut down the engine, hook up power and run the slides out.
