Removal of Weldex monitor from 2006 Dolphin dash

I am replacing my old b&w Weldex WDRV-3067 monitor and camera. Does anyone have experience removing the monitor from the dash. It is mounted in a molded plastic housing attached to the back of the dash (no metal bracket) and does not appear to have any screws holding it in. I can move the monitor about a 1/2" but it is very tight trying to push it through the front of the dash. I don't want to crack the dash by pushing too hard. Does the dash need to be removed to get the monitor out? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks, Bill

If you remove the engine dog house, you can get back under the dash to undo the bolts in the brackets. This will give you more room to work.

Replacement of indash monitor

Here's what I did:
I purchased a color LCD monitor and external fixed video camera I also purchased a second video camera to see what is happening in the coach behind the driver. I built an insert and small drawer on which I mounted the LCD screen and into which I put the connectors. I hope this stuff helps. It works very well for me. I use the backup camera to see when my tow (Corolla on a dolly) clears any thing I'm passing much more than when backing up, so fixed position rear video works for me.

Best of luck.
