Removing topper over slide-out

Anyone know how to release the spring tension to remove the topper over the bedroom slide-out? I have some loose and missing screws underneath mine, possibly leaking. This is at the metal strip along the top/outside edge of the slide-out. I need to reseal and replace the screws but the topper is in the way. TIA!

Well, the topper is "easy" to remove. This video from Tough Tops Awnings can give you a clue.
