I just lifted out the old tv, attached a wall mount over the hole, and up went the flatty. It doesn't look too bad...

Soon after we purchased our 2004 GT the original monitor went out. I found a local audio shop that installed a new 5" color monitor in the dash with a fabric panel that matches the dash color pretty close. They put in a new camera and were able to use the original wiring. Cost was less than $300.

TV replacement is still under consideration.

On our 2002 Beaver I paid a "carpenter skilled" friend to make a new enclosure on the old cabinet frame, did a beautiful job of matching the wood. Then I installed a swing-out flat screen mount and new flat screen TV. The MOD came out very nice and the TV was much more viewable with the swing mount! one word of CAUTION, When you remove the old CRT TV, BE PREPARED FOR A REALLY HEAVY LOAD TO DROP INTO YOUR ARMS!!

My class C came with a full entertainment set up but no tv so I simply bought a 32" LED flat screen with an articulating wall mount and placed it on the wall right behind the cab being very careful to line up my holes so I wouldn't penetrate any outside walls. Then I added a blue ray player to the old tv cabinet. Total power usage is 40W combined and now the wife and daughter can watch movies in comfort of the forward facing dinette seat or you can swing the tv out so anyone on the couch can watch as well.

Took 30 minutes of careful planning and two drill holes.

Here's a link to a web page with some solutions other people have come up with. If all depends on your woodworking skill level. Also keep the Safety Factor in mind. TV's are heavy and could cause serious injury falling off the wall of the RV.

LCD Upgrade

I put a 39" LCD in our 2002 Dolphin. Took old set out, screwed 12"x2"x4" piece to existing platform, screwed 12"wx3/4"x19"long plywood to 2x4 and top of cabinet, mounted Mor-Ryde RV TV mount and mounted TV. I'll post some pix later after I take some... About $100.00 for mount + TV cost.

Regards, Howard

TV relocation

We bought Our 2000 Tropi-cal with a 32" flat screen mounted above the entry door. All wiring is routed through the cabinet just ahead of the door. The former location has been converted to a storage cabinet
