Replacing Carpet 2004 Sea Breeze

Anyone replaced their carpet with vinyl sheet flooring? My kitchen/dinette are on the driver’s side slide-out. There is currently vinyl in the kitchen area/bathroom, and the rest is carpet. I want to replace it all with vinyl sheet flooring. I live in Eastern Washington, and we have some very hot summer days and some very cold, snowy winter days.
How difficult/labor intensive is this? I will probably hire the job out, but I want to be knowledgeable about the process.
Will the slide-outs need to come off? Will any of the cabinets need to come out? Will they need to put an underpayment down where the existing carpet is?Any idea how long a job like this will entail?
If you have done this or hired it out, I would sure like to hear from you!

I did this with my 2001 Dolphin. I would recommend loose lay cushioned vinyl as opposed to glued down due to the temp variation. I've had not problems in about 6-8 years. It is labor intensive. I had hardwood in the kitchen area which was glued down to subfloor and murder to remove. Also there were hundreds of staples in the carpet everywhere which took hours to remove. Also some bolt heads that had to be sunk a little deeper to prevent problems with the vinyl. Didn't remove slides, just ran vinyl as fare as possible and let a strip of carpet under edge of extended slide. No regrets. Much easier to keep clean then the old carpet. I did the entire coach in multiple steps.

We removed the carpet and installed vinyl plank flooring in our 2005 Dolphin from front to back except in the living room slide , we installed new carpet there . Installing the vinyl flooring on the slide will leave A over hand when the slide is closed that we were afraid would be a trip hazard for us .

What did you do for the front cockpit and doghouse, Ray?

I cut the flooring around the doghouse frame . I removed the carpet around the gas and brake peddles , ran the flooring as far as the floor was flat toward the peddles and bough one of those anti fatigue floor mats from Harbor Freight , cut the hole in it for the steering column and split the mat from the front edge to the hole and slide it up around the steering column and under the peddles . It was long enough to stop just short of the seat . Had the captains chairs recovered and the doghouse covered with the same material . If you choose to cover the doghouse in this manner be sire to have the upholster to put a 3/4 inch pipping around the bottom of the doghouse to cover the required gap between the flooring and the doghouse frame . Here's a pic. of the cuts around the doghouse opening , the finished doghouse cover and the new carpet in the slide . I will try to go by the storage unit tomorrow and get a shot of the floor mat .

Thanks, Ray. Have been thinking of the vinyl plank myself and wondered if I would just leave the front area carpeted or just how I might handle it.

Looks great, Ray, and thanks for the offer of assistance. My project is probably at least a couple years down the road yet. I like carpeting, but we all know how hard it is to keep it clean in a moho, so it's only a matter of time before it will need to be replaced. I do like the idea of using vinyl plank when the time comes.

Finally Finished

Went with vinyl plank instead of vinyl sheet because it was easier to install without removing the slides. Yes, there must have been a thousand staples, especially in the bedroom! Decided to leave the carpet on the doghouse and under the driver/passenger. DW is happy with it, so I am too! I have a whole box left if she ever changes her mind. Really updates the interior and no longer smells like old carpet
