Road Service

It seems that RV road service comes down to AAA and Good Sam. We are coming up for renewal of our AAA "Plus RV" road service, 100 mile tow, and we're thinking of upgrading to "RV Plus", 200 mile tow once a year with 100 mile tows after that. For those familiar with Good Sam I would like to know what they offer and if it is good in Canada. We are thinking of a trip to Alaska next year in our "new", 2008, Pacifica. Thanks for sharing you r experience.

Gordon

Don't leave out Coach Net from your research.

We have Good Sam ERS and CoachNet.......just in case there is a dispute about the number of miles to be towed...and to where, exactly....and how many tows do you get for one incident.

Have had CoachNet for over 10 years and have been towed two times. No cost either time, once was from in front of the stick house when a starter went out. In fact that one ended up being a two stage tow due to the FL shop outright lying to the CoachNet operator. Don't leave home without it!

Just used GSRA for the 4th time - two for the MH and two form our other autos. Good, prompt local service people showed up and got the job done.

We had Good Sam a long time ago, and had two good and two bad experiences. One required a tow to a campground for overnight, then separate tow to a service facility that included a separate tow for the car trailer. These multiple tows were first denied, then allowed after an appeal.

Had Coach Net later, and had both motorhome and car trailer separately towed and no problem.

Since both Good Sam and Coach Net use individual contractors, the quality of service may be dependent upon the attitude of the business doing the towing (and how they interpret the details of their contract with the service providers).

Would you believe Oregon is one of 10 states that if your address is located therein they will not cover. They did ask if we had an address in other states they do cover. I wonder if this is a newly imposed restriction and why? Looks like either Good Sam or AAA.

Where do you find these restrictions?

First I heard of it. Their FAQ seems to indicate no restrictions. I have sent Coachnet a message asking the very question.
I also just read over my member information and no mentions of restrictions. 24 hours a day entire US
