Interesting, I have never checked to see what horn is working, I hope the chrome ones are not just for looks. I am going out this weekend, I will check them (if my memory is working)

Hi Guys
I've just joined the forum I'm over from the UK touring for 3 months at the moment and returning for another 3 months shortly.I own a Dolphin 5355 2005 and have the same problem in fact I can't even find a switch or button to operate the roof horns. Would welcome any advice also my black tank registers green all the time I was going to back flush with some ice in the tank Good or Bad idea.

Mmmm. We're headed out in the morning. I'll give'em a blast to see if they work or not. Never had to use the horn yet.

I would bet they are just for looks. I don't think that your Workhorse has a air system, so unless the horns have a separate compressor there is not air to the horns. Our previous coach, a 97 Trop-Cal was that way. Not air brakes, so no air pressure system, so no air horns.

These are electric horns and should honk from your horn button on the steering wheel. I am on my 2nd set and these do not work now either. I got a set of GM horns (an A tone and an F tone) and mounted them in the grill and pigigbacked the wiring from the original horns and now I have horns!! These were originally Cadillac horns and my rig sounds like a Cadillac now.

LEESOCAL,thanks much. where did you connect the wires to? a horn relay? if so where is the relay? i've located the wires out of the foof but can't follow them down. another good reason they should give diagrams with these things.

I did not do anything with the wires coming from the roof. I just left them there. I hope I am understanding your question.

I had the same problem, I removed the roof horns, placed them on my work bench. removed the rear retaining screws, removed the cover. What I found when I removed the cover was 12 volt coil and aset of contacts( almost like a set of points you would find in a car distributor) I cleaned the contacts with a point file. Got my 12 volt jumper pak, with two short pieces of wire. and what do you know, they worked
